As the clubs prepared for the European Cup final in the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, Belgium, fights broke out in the stands and the ensuing violence claimed the lives of 39 fans, as well as leaving over 600 injured. Gill about “Green and Gold Campaign”: It’s a visible minority in the stadium

Manchester United chief executive David Gill believes the ‘green and gold’ movement at Old Trafford will fade away and labelled it a “visible minority” which would “go away”.
The fans’ group against the Glazer family’s ownership of the club gained momentum last season with an increasing number of supporters wearing the green and gold scarves at United matches, representing the club’s early incarnation as Newton Heath.
Gill believes, however, that many of the supporters who wear the scarves do not fully understand the meaning of the protest.

25 Leeds United yobs jailed after Bradford city train ambush

A gang of Leeds United fans attacked rival Bradford City supporters after they ambushed a train.
Carriages were left spattered with blood after the thugs used sticks and planks of wood to carry out the attack.
The train driver was also assaulted and windows smashed in the pre-arranged violence at Bramley railway station.

Blackpool’s Premier League promotion celebration- 60,000 fans

Hooligans ordered to surrender passports to make sure they don’t travel to World Cup

More than 60 football hooligans have been told to surrender their passports this week to prevent then travelling to the World Cup.

Champions League final, jewel in the season’s crown

Bayern Munich and Internazionale Milano fans really honored the prestige of Europe’s most important football competition. Two superb choreographies accompanied the teams as they walked to the pitch for the kick-off. Inter with a gigantic display of an overhead banner with the team’s logo, surrounded by the Champions League stars and the Italy’s flag and Bayern with a gigantic Cup made out of cardboards on the three levels of Santiago Bernabeu along with the initials of the club “FCB” all that on a red-white striped background.
Tens of thousands of Inter’s fans fooded the streets of Milan after the final whistle to celebrate the teams victory and almost 40.000 fans awaited the team at the airport. For more photos from the game and celebrations see the rest of the article. (more…)

Internazionale Milano fans are preparing a big show for the Champions League final in Spain on Saturday. They’ve been working on it for a month and it is expected to be spectacular. 15.000 flags, 15.000 cardboards, a big terrace flag are the ingredients of this tremendous show. They needed 4 trucks to carry all the materials to Santiago Bernabeu.
22.000 fans are expected to support Inter in the first Champions League final after 38 years
