Paris-Saint-Germain bring in women to stop violence

PSG’s chairman, Robin Leproux, said the radical plan’s aim was to “pacify the Parc des Princes (stadium) and restore the club’s image”, which has been severely tainted by violence.
Hardline measures include banning season tickets in the Auteil and Boulogne kops at opposite ends of the pitch, where rival ultra-violent fans convene and clash on a weekly basis. (more…)

France bans seven football fans’ groups over violence

FC KolnThe French government has taken the unusual step of dissolving seven official soccer supporters’ associations accused of being linked to violence.

Interior minister Brice Hortefeux’s decision comes amid widespread concern over hooliganism and some two months after a Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) supporter died following a brutal beating by members of a rival PSG fans’ group. Of the seven banned associations – often known as “firms” – five belong to PSG fans and two are linked to the clubs Olympique Lyonnais and OGC Nice. (more…)

European supporters united behind PSG groups

Werder Bremen Paris Saint-Germain supporters are going through really difficult times, voices saying that the most important groups of the Auteuil terrace: Authentiks, Grinta and Supras are close to suspend their activity. It all started at the end of the february derby (against Marseille) when hooligans from the two PSG terraces (Auteuil and Boulogne) had a fight, one of the most important members of Boulogne Boys, “Yann”, suffering a head trauma, ended by his death on the 17th of march. After this incident, police started to take harsh action against both of the terraces members. This measures were taken along with the club’s decision on forbidding their own fans to follow them on away matches.Slowly, one by one, numerous supporters were banned by the police, making the existence of the two terraces very difficult.
